Do you write down your score correctly?

I am not suggesting that you are cheating by writing a lowerscore. But do you keep track of each fairway you hit, Green in Regulation,Number of Putts. Is any of this ringing a bell yet? If you don’t you reallyshould.

This is how I have lowered my score substantially. I keepall of the stats mentioned above as well as up/downs, bunker shots, how far my firstputt is from the hole. I am not suggesting you do all of these but some are amust if you want to improve.

First off you must keep track of if you hit the fairway asimple checkmark for yes and X for no works. Same goes for if you hit a greenin regulation or not. Lastly a must is the number of putts you have. If youcount putts from just off the green do not count them as a putt because you arereally chipping. Only count them if they are on the green.

Now at the end of each round total you stats up. Such as10/14 fairways, 11/18 greens, and 36 putts, you can then calculate thepercentage if you would like to compare to tour pros but it is not a must. Thensee where you need to improve.

If you have more than 36 putts you really need a puttinglesson. But if it is just one round do not be discouraged. Make sure youcompare 2 or 3 rounds first. If you are only hitting 6 of 18 greens where arethe missed greens coming from? Wedges, Short Irons or Long Irons? Find outwhere and practice, practice, practice! How is your driving? Above 50% you aren’tdoing too bad, yes it always can improve. You can see where you miss thefairway by adding an L or R on the card. If you are consistently missing to oneside you may want to have a professional look at your swing and driverselection to make sure it is the right fit/flex for your swing speed and type.I hope this helps if you have any questions let me know.
